Couple weeks. Only a couple practice left. We need to get comfortable in ourselves and get this undertime!
oh please please..lets not get sloppy...thats the worst. we HAVE to find a way to keep the play fresh so we find new experiences every time we do it!

We had one good performance guys, now is NOT the time to start getting lazy or relax. We still have so much that we can improve on and we are not getting it under time consistently. We have to get this together and keep working. As we are right now, we are not ready for competition. We can get there but we have to use all the time we have left... And that's only, what? 6 practices left? We can't afford to have a practice where we don't improve.
ReplyDeleteWe need to start concentrating on improving ourselves individually. Actually, we needed to start that a long time ago. But if you haven't started, now's the time. Every little thing matters. Every look, every emotion, EVERYTHING. We have to be in character the whole time and our characters need to be SOLID. Everyone needs to develop throughout the play. Figure this out for yourself. What does your character gain? What do they lose? How does this change them? Once you figure that out, show it.
I'm not going to lie, I was upset at the changes yesterday because I had FINALLY figured out my character. I felt like I had Ruth down to the tee. I had finally become Ruth on stage. Then everything changed and now I have to re-process everything. Please be patient with me. I have to figure out my character's motivation for myself.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Kayla. We do not need to get lazy or relax. That will kill us later on. We all need to put 110% into each practice (including me). On Thursday, let's get it under time and have an AWESOME practice!
