Admission Charge for Public Performances:
$5.00 for adults$3.00 for students and senior citizens (age 55 and older)
NO ONE WILL BE ADMITTED TO THE AUDITORIUM WHILE A PERFORMANCE IS IN PROGRESS
Entry Fee
ONE-ACT PLAY INFORMATIONParticipating schools are not responsible for sending entry fees to the Regional Director.Each District Director will handle all entry fees for a district and then bill respective schools for the amount owed.
Entry fee for each One-Act Play is $200.00.
“Eligibility Notices to the Contest Manager Regional Director and State Theatre Director must be postmarked, hand delivered or sent by courier by Monday,
midnight following your area contest."
Location of Contest
The One-Act Play contest will be held in Deaderick Hall Auditorium, Odessa College.
Members of the Odessa College staff will serve as hosts for the One-Act Play competition.

Using 6 slots, 2 each from the area contests with the "A" and "B" slots from each area to be determined from the advancing play titles alphabetically.
The drawn order is, 1B, 2A, 3A, 2B, 1A, 3B.
We do not have the results from the other area yet.

Rehearsals
A school should report to the stage loading door (at the North side of Deaderick HallAuditorium) about fifteen minutes before the hour for its rehearsal.

A college host will bewaiting there to answer questions, to direct the unloading of props, and to assist in every way possible.

Be On Time
Events will run as scheduled. Failure to report promptly at specified times will result in forfeiture.
RehearsalsEach play will have exactly one clock hour on the stage.
A One-Act Play group will be permittedto enter stage on the hour and must be off by the end of the hour.
A tour of backstage facilities and discussion of procedures will follow each rehearsal.

The acting area on the stage in the Deaderick Hall Auditorium is about thirty (30) feetwide and thirty-one (31) feet deep (from the back wall to the curtain line).
The apron of thestage extends about six and one-half (6-1/2) feet beyond the proscenium wall.
Plays must be staged against black drapes.
There is an orchestra pit in front of the stage.

ReplyDeletelooks like we get to go first... we need to make a lasting (good, memorible) impression on the judge.. we have come so far and are so close to state... lets give the best performance we have ever given... we need to push hard in practice coming up... everyone be ready to work... this is what we live for! (well atleast in the spring semester).. haha

ReplyDeleteeveryone we are going to bed at seven thirty...at the latest!!!! we are gonna have to eat a lot of food to pep ourselves up not caffeine cuz we will crash that way. Remember jay brown said theatre should never be performed before dark, and that is so true, but we will have to do our best!!!! and if we dont knock that judge out with our amazing play, she won't even remember us because she will have five other plays to wipe us from her memory so, guys: better make it pretty DANGED GOOD!!!!!!!!!
